Dave Hanlon is an entrepreneur and business leader whose career uniquely bridges natural resource management, healthcare leadership, and environmentally focused services.
A graduate of the University of Maine in Orono, Dave earned his degree in Forestry and began his career working hands-on in the field with the U.S. Forest Service and Acadia National Park in the early 1990s. During this time, he developed a deep appreciation for forest ecosystems, land stewardship, and sustainable environmental practices. He later became a licensed arborist, further strengthening his expertise in tree care and plant health.
In the early 2000s, Dave transitioned into the healthcare industry, where he spent more than 20 years as a national business development leader in the home health and hospice space. In this role, he led high-performing teams, built strategic partnerships, and drove growth across complex, highly regulated markets—earning a reputation for leadership, execution, and results.
Today, Dave has returned to his roots in the green industry as the owner of an OhDEER franchise based in Portland, Maine. Combining his forestry background, arborist expertise, and business leadership experience, he is focused on delivering environmentally responsible solutions that protect families, properties, and outdoor spaces.
Dave lives in Maine’s Belgrade Lakes Region with his wife Pam of 25 years, their three children—Shaelyn, Colby, and Willow—and their two French bulldogs, Hazel and Huckleberry. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, reinforcing his lifelong connection to the environment both personally and professionally.
